Our Sustainability Commitment

On average British families buy 80 million pairs of shoes for their children EACH YEAR – that is equivalent to 8000 fully grown elephants in weight. The majority of these shoes are made almost completely of materials that take hundreds of years to decompose having a devastating impact on the environment around them. To this end, Pip & Henry strive to change the way in which shoes are made and disposed of.

Shoe Recycling Service

Once your children have outgrown our shoes you can send them back to us using our responsible shoe recycling service and when we receive your old shoes, we will send you up to £20 off voucher for your next pair. As part of our wider commitment to recycling and sustainability, we also accept shoes that aren’t Pip & Henry manufactured.

Recyclable Packaging

Our shoeboxes are made from Recycled Cardboard. They are also designed to be a board game that encourages children to use common waste products we find in the home for art and craft adding to our commitment to your people’s education in sustainability while also giving the box a long term use.

Sustainable Production Materials

We are committed to making our shoes out of sustainable materials. 80% of the materials used in our shoes are eco-friendly and we are working hard to make that figure 100%.

Eco-Focused Stories

Pip and Henry stories are a free educational resource that is fun and engaging for children.

Our storybooks are written to inspire children into thinking about the things they can do to help the environment. Our completely recyclable shoe boxes doubles up as a board game – which is, of course, a great treat to add to the magic of receiving a new pair of shoes, but also encourages children to me more mindful about the world through playful activities.
